Matthew Schwedfeger, DDS
Hi, I’m Dr. Matt Schwedfeger. I was born and raised in Rochester, NY, and graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School. From there I moved on to Villanova University where I earned a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences. I then received my D.D.S. degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. After dental school, I returned home to Rochester and began one year of post-graduate training at the Strong Hospital and the Eastman Institute for Oral Health. There I received vast training in treating medically compromised and special needs patients as well as furthering my education in the areas of cosmetic and restorative dentistry and prosthodontics.
I am an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, New York State Dental Association, and the Monroe County Dental Society.
Besides dentistry, my interests include golf, the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and of course Villanova basketball. I am an avid sports fan, and I love being able to share these interests with my friends and family. I currently live in Brighton with my wife, Kacey, and our two children.
Vivian, Office Manager
I also work part time as a floral designer. I like to paint, cook, bake, garden and make crafts in my spare time. I also love to travel with my friends and family. I have two cats, Ozzy and Wednesday! I like to stream forensic shows and movies! I strive to be a generous, kind and thoughtful person like my immigrant parents instilled in me.
Courtney, Treatment Coordinator/Assistant
Courtney earned her Dental Assistant certification through BOCES’s in 2016. She started working in Pediatric Dentistry for 6 years. There she learned helpful dental techniques for kids as well as some orthodontic training. Courtney transitioned to General Dentistry in 2022 and is happy to be a part of such a family-oriented office. She is experienced in clinical aspects of the office as well as the front end. Outside of work she spends her time with her Husband, Jared and German Shepherd dog, Judge. She loves football Sundays (the Buffalo Bills) and checking out new restaurants.
Fun Fact: Courtney is obsessed with all things Harry Potter!
DENISE, DENTAL ASSISTANT
Hi, my name is Denise. I have been working here at Village Smiles since 2004. It’s my goal to give our patients the best care possible. We are always learning new techniques and stay Intune with the newest technology. Our motto here is treating patients with kindness, compassion and making sure they are comfortable. Our patients are treated like family. I am proud to be a part of this team. Dr. Matt is kind and always gives our patients the best dental care.
In my personal life, I am a proud mom to adult children, Alyssa and Steven. They have completed college and have outstanding careers in Nursing. Alyssa was recently married, and I now have a son-in-law, Dan. He is a great guy, and I am proud to call him my son, not just a son-in-law. Family is everything- at home and at work.
JEN, DENTAL ASSISTANT
Outside of the office Jen enjoys spending time with her children. She has a Schnauzer named Thor and two Parakeets. She loves cooking and doing home renovation projects. She is referred to as “Miss Fix it!”.
Suzette, Dental Hygienist
Suzette earned her Dental Hygiene License in 1974. She has experienced many areas of dentistry. She works with her patients the way she lives her life, with compassion, knowledge and a sense of humor. When in her chair there are no questions unanswered and no judgement. Comfort and care are her top priority. She enjoys sharing stories with her patients and has gotten to recognize their needs. Suzette has heard it all and seen it all. She will always try to give you the best visit here at Village Smiles. Suzette loves working with such an amazing staff.
After work she spends her time with Family, friends and her grandchildren. She has a Bernadoodle named Ruby (aka Ruby Red) and the best hubby, Timothy!
Jacquelyn, Dental Hygienist
Outside the office, Jackie loves cooking and spending time with her husband and their three children. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places whenever she has the chance.
DEE DEE, Dental Hygienist
Outside of practicing the profession she loves, she spends her time washing her car, cross country skiing, kayaking, biking or lifting to stay in shape. Her love of music will keep you entertained in the chair and her stories of the many concerts she attends will make you do the same!
